Authorities are investigating the death of a baby at a Pensacola apartment complex last month as a homicide. On December 29th, officers with the Pensacola Police Department responded to the Pensacola Village Apartments at 500 East Fairfield Drive for the death of a 1-year-old boy. Yesterday, the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office  said they would take the lead in the investigation because of the mobile nature of this case, which occurred both inside the city and county.
