A Florida circuit judge has, for the second time, struck down a law that capped the number of dispensaries that medical marijuana businesses can run. Tru-lieve, a medical marijuana business based in Quincy, challenged the law saying it arbitrarily impairs product availability and safety and unfairly penalizes pot providers. Leon County Circuit Judge Karen Gievers’ order replaces a January 2nd ruling, and Gievers criticized the Legislature and state health officials for failing to comply with the constitutional amendment, which was approved by more than 71 percent of voters in 2016.
