The contractor who is building the new Pensacola Bay Bridge – Skanska USA – has missed an early completion deadline. The delay has cost the company a 15 million-dollar incentive bonus that was part of its contract with the Florida Department of Transportation. However, the FDOT said the overall project remains on schedule for completion in mid-2021. The 400 million-dollar bridge replacement is the largest public infrastructure project in the history of Northwest Florida and will replace the existing bridge, which was built in 1960 and was declared structurally deficient in 2010.
