DESTIN COYOTE PROBLEM

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission said it is unlikely there will be an easy solution to the coyote problem around Destin. During a recent presentation at the Destin Community Center, FWC employee Catherine Kennedy said coyotes are very adaptable and intelligent and they are likely here to stay. She said they they have been documented in all 67 counties of Florida, including Key Largo. While coyotes prey on small animals such as raccoons, possums, mice and rats, they will also take cats and small dogs.
