MAN RESENTENCED TO LIFE IN PRISON

A 41-year-old Pensacola man – resentenced to serve 102 in prison as a result of a U.S. Supreme Court decision – has again been resentenced to life in prison. Kelvin Dortch, was originally convicted as a juvenile, but the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that it cruel and unusual punishment to sentence a juvenile  to life without parole for non-homicide offenses and in 2010 he was given the 102 years. Now a new judge has increased Dortch’s prison term back up to life sentences for the robberies and sexual battery.
