The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office says an Orange Beach man has been arrested for defrauding an 86-year-old woman out of $16,500 when he pretended to be a contractor. The victim said she entered two written contracts back in May of 2018 with 44-year-old Bradley Perry, to replace her roof, install vinyl siding and connect a new carport to the home for a total amount of $40,000. She gave him a cashier’s check for $10,000 as an initial deposit and another check for $6,500, but the work was never performed and Perry refused to refund the money. Perry was arrested and charged with two counts of larceny and two counts of engaging in contracting business without a license and booked into the Okaloosa County Jail.
