The Pensacola News Journal is reporting that United Way of Santa Rosa County lost its charter on Wednesday, four months after its executive director was fired after an investigation into the agency’s finances and an FBI probe. United Way Worldwide confirmed that United Way of Santa Rosa County is no longer a member of United Way Worldwide and must cease using the United Way name and logo. In early October 2018, the board announced it had put its then-Executive Director Guy Thompson and two other employees on paid administrative leave for accounting irregularities. The board then terminated Thompson on October 31st.
