PLANE CRASH-LANDS AT PENSACOLA AIRPORT

A small single-engine plane ran into difficulties Friday afternoon at the Pensacola International Airport when its landing gear failed, closing down two runways. It happened just after 1 p.m., but the plane was able to safely land on the airport’s south runway and no injuries were reported and there was no fire. However, the north and south runways were closed for a time as crews cleared the aircraft from the runway, but the east and west runaways remained open. The Federal Aviation Administration will conduct an investigation.
