Florida gas prices keep going up. Prices increased an average of 15 cents per gallon last week in the Sunshine State, the second-largest weekly increase among any other state in the country. Only Kentucky had a bigger increase at 16 cents a gallon. Florida drivers are paying an average price of $2.62 per gallon for regular unleaded and the state average has increased 46 cents per gallon. The average price per gallon in Escambia County was $2.48, up 8 cents from last week and 30 from one month ago. The Triple “A” Auto Club said reduced refinery output, and lower gasoline supplies have been factors. And the highest prices of the year may hit until around Memorial Day weekend.
