HIT AND RUN DRIVER SENTENCED

The man who killed three utility company linemen working to restore power in the aftermath of Hurricane Michael in a hit and run, has been sentenced to prison. John Goedtke was sentenced to life in prison by Circuit Court Judge Timothy Register. State Attorney Glenn Hess said Goedtke received the maximum allowable sentence under Florida law. Goedtke pleaded guilty to three counts of DUI manslaughter, one count of leaving the scene of a crash involving death, and one count of driving while license suspended or revoked. A lineman from Chipley and two from North Carolina died after being struck.
