Santa Rosa County officials say a man drowned Sunday at Navarre Beach. It happened near the Navarre Beach pier, around 5:30 p.m. when a man in his mid-50s was pulled from the surf unconscious. A bystander began CPR and the man was transported to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center by ambulance because helicopters could not fly due to weather.
