Legion Field on West Gregory Street, will close for the remainder of the year so more than a million dollars in improvements can be made to the field owned by the City of Pensacola. Crews will install a new press box and scoreboard on the football field, a new pavilion and a splash pad, as well as make improvements to the walking path. Brian Cooper, parks and recreation director for the city of Pensacola, said while the field will be closed, the Theophalis May Resource Center and Westside Branch Library will remain open.
