The Escambia County School District has reported three positive COVID-19 cases among students after the first week of school. One case each was reported at Ransom Middle School, Jim Bailey Middle School and Ensley Elementary School and a total of 113 students were exposed  as of Friday afternoon. Parents of other students at the three schools were notified. Escambia County School District Health Services Director Martha Hanna said any student who is determined to have had close contact with a COVID-19 case can’t return to school for two weeks, but will be able to continue with remote learning while out of school. Students cannot return to school until September 14th.
