NURSING HOME VISITS ALLOWED

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has announced he is ending the ban on visitors to Florida’s long-term care centers. Family members will again be able to visit loved ones in nursing homes and other facilities, but will be limited to two visitors at a time, without children, with those entering undergoing a health screening and wearing face coverings. A center must have had no positive cases of coronavirus, among residents or staff, for the previous 14 days before allowing visitors. The Florida Health Department says that 4,759 nursing home residents and staff have died because of the virus, out of 11,374 overall fatalities in the state.
