The City of Pensacola is asking for bids to remove the Confederate monument from Lee Square on Palafox Street. Bids are due back on September 24th and the city will review the bids and select a contractor. The monument will then be taken to the port of Pensacola for storage, but a decision on where the statue will ultimately go has not yet been made.
