NAVAL AVIATION MUSEUM

The National Naval Aviation Museum has announced they will reopen to active duty military and their dependents starting next week. Retired Navy Captain Sterling Gilliam, the museum’s director, said the museum at Naval Air Station Pensacola will open at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 15th and visitors must bring their own face masks and wear them at all times while in the museum. Some exhibits will remain closed to ensure social distancing is followed.  The museum has been closed to all visitors since March 16th because of the pandemic. Jason Bortz, spokesman for NAS Pensacola, said the base is not reopening to the public, and the museum will be open only for active duty military and their dependents.
