More oil is washing ashore on Johnson Beach on Perdido Key. The Coast Guard is working to determine the source of the oil, but Environmental specialist Sava Varazo said he does not believe it was submerged oil from the BP oil spill because it doesn’t have the right consistency or color. He thinks it probably came from vessels that sank during Hurricane Sally. Varazo says even if you can’t see oil, you should stay out of coastal waters for at least the next month until the waterways have had time to purge themselves from contaminates.
