BAY BRIDGE REPAIRS

The Florida Department of Transportation says the Pensacola Bay Bridge did not sustain any additional damage during Hurricane Zeta.   FDOT has three bridge contractors on site to expedite the demolition of damaged spans. Debris from two spans has been cleared along with the complete removal of one damaged span. Design is underway for permanent repairs and reestablishment of four lanes of traffic on the bridge. The fabrication of multiple concrete pilings, piers, and beams will be required to complete repairs by March of 2021.
