The Escambia County School District plans to keep COVID-19 restrictions in place at least until January. Incoming school superintendent Doctor Timothy Smith said the data indicates the restrictions currently in place should continue to be followed. As of last Friday, there were 25 COVID-19 positive students and 25 positive staff members in the Escambia County School District. There were also 645 students and 44 staff members excluded from school because of a positive COVID-19 test result. Doctor Smith said the District will reevaluate in January 2021.
