CRESTVIEW OFFICER-INVOLVED SHOOTING FOLLOW-UP

Skeletal remains found near the interstate last week in South Florida are believed to be 18-year-old Jalajhia Finklea, the woman believed to have been with a wanted suspect who was shot and killed by law enforcement officers in Crestview. Local officers, working as part of the U.S. Marshal’s Service’s Regional Fugitive Task Force, were trying to apprehend 37-year-old Luis Zaragoza, in the parking lot of a MacDonalds when he started shooting at officers from his car. They returned fire, killing Zaragoza. Finklea was reported missing October 20th. She was five months pregnant and an autopsy is being conducted to make a positive identification and to determine the cause and manner of death.
