The Florida Highway Patrol says one person is dead after a fatal single-vehicle traffic crash on Citrus Street in west Escambia County. Troopers say it happened around 12:30 a.m. Monday when a car northbound on Citrus Street ran off the road and hit a tree. The 27-year-old driver was transported to the hospital with injuries and the front passenger, a 26-year-old Pensacola man, was pronounced dead on scene. No further details were released.
