The Florida Department of Law Enforcement says an illegal recording device was found in Escambia County Administrator Janice Gilley’s office earlier this year. FDLE spokeswoman Gretl Plessinger said an investigation did locate a hidden video-audio recording device, but the case was closed when no additional information was developed. Gilley said she became concerned when she learned that details of private conversations had become known. Other sweeps were conducted in the building, along with the offices of all five county commissioners and the county attorney, but no other devices were found.
