Pensacola’s Police Chief is retiring. Chief Tommi Lyter says he will before the end of the year and will beome chief deputy at the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office. Lyter was appointed chief of the Pensacola Police Department in 2017, and his last day will be Dec. 27h. Deputy Chief Kevin Christman will become interim chief. Lyter was hired as a police officer in August 1990 and spent the next 30 years with the department.
