The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office says one of two suspects accused of shooting two brothers Tuesday night, killing one and injuring the other, has been arrested. Deputies responded about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday to reports of multiple gunshots near Dover Avenue and Deerwood Road IN West Escambia County and found Javonte Shoemo’s body in the driveway of a home in the 2700 block of Buckingham Road. His 24-year-old brother was found sitting on the ground in the driveway with multiple gunshot wounds. He is in critical condition. 39-year-old Omar Collier was charged with second-degree murder and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. A second suspect – 33-year-old Freddie “Fresh” Jefferson – remains at large.
