DON SUTTON DIES

Major League Baseball Hall of Famer Don Sutton has died. Sutton was born in Clio, Alabama, and attended Tate High School after his family moved to Florida where he helped win a baseball state championship. Sutton pitched for the Los Angeles Dodgers from 1966-80 and again in 1988 and also spent time with the Houston Astros, Milwaukee Brewers, Oakland Athletics and California Angels. Sutton was a four-time All-Star and won 324 career games. He is seventh on the MLB’s career strikeout list with 3,254. He was inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame in 1998. He also worked as a broadcaster. His son, Daron Sutton, said his father died in his sleep. Don Sutton was 75.
