Escambia County has decided to start over in its search for a new fire chief.  Four finalists were announced in late January, selected from a list of 60 applicants after a nationwide search. They have now been notified the search is starting over. Escambia County spokesperson Laura Coale said the Fire Chief position will remain open until filled. The job has been open since the County’s last fire chief, Rusty Nail, resigned after a year on the job.
