PENSACOLA CONFEDERATE FLAG

The Confederate flag may soon be removed from Pensacola Police Department badges and shoulder patches. The Pensacola Citizens Police Advisory Committee voted to recommend the city take that action. The Pensacola Police Department and Fire Department feature the five national flags that have flown over the city throughout its history, including the first national flag of the Confederacy known as the “stars and bars”.  Only committee member Kyle Kopytchak voted against the motion. Interim Police Chief Keven Christman said the decision to remove the flag would be made by the city administration.
