The Escambia County Sheriff’s Department says the suspect in a series of car burglaries in Myrtle Grove has been arrested after a high-speed chase through parts of Cantonment and Gonzalez yesterday. During the pursuit, 23-year-old Chance Gardner backed into a Sheriff’s Department patrol vehicle causing some damages but no injuries. Gardner was eventually stopped on Old Chemstrand Road and was charged with attempted armed burglary, fleeing and eluding, and a narcotics violation, as well as outstanding warrants for grand theft and vehicle burglaries.
