The Escambia County Sheriffs Department says a 26-year-old Alabama man was arrested at West Florida Hospital after holding a patient hostage and fighting off staff and deputies. Timothy Rains, of Loxley, Alabama, was taken to the hospital for a medical condition, but became verbally aggressive when asked to put on hospital clothes and provide a urine sample. He punched a hole in the wall and entered another patient’s room and locked the door. Multiple deputies tried to arrest Rains, but he kicked a deputy and grabbed his weapon from his holster, which the deputy knocked away. He was finally subdued and is currently receiving treatment for his injuries at the hospital. He faces multiple felony charges.
