The Florida Department of Transportation says additional damage has been found on the Pensacola Bay Bridge, which will likely delay the opening. State Senator Doug Broxson said as a piece was being placed on a bridge piling, the whole structure shifted, and when the piece was removed it shifted again but not back into place. He said all the work that’s been accomplished over the last 90 days may have to be demolished. FDOT officials had previously said the bridge would partially reopen the week of March 22. FDOT has been withholding $35,000 per day from Skanska until the full lanes are reopened and civil lawsuits are ongoing in court.
