The Pensacola News Journal is reporting the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of catalytic converters from six buses that Santa Rosa Transportation – a local nonprofit – uses to transport elderly and disabled residents to important appointments and destinations. Santa Rosa County Sheriff Bob Johnson said the catalytic converters were stolen from six of Santa Rosa Transportation’s 12 buses. The estimated total cost for repairs is about $9,000. Authorities believe the thefts occurred between late Monday night and early Tuesday morning at the organization’s Milton office on East Highway 90.
