Plaza de Luna in downtown Pensacola is reopening after suffering damage from Hurricane Sally last September. Located at the south end of Palafox Pier, it has been closed since the storm and the fountain and splash pad will remain closed until further notice. Visitors should stay out of barricaded areas until they are safe for use. Hurricane Sally also damaged Pensacola’s waterfront, but local governments can have up to 75% of repairs to public facilities covered by FEMA aid. The state and the city will split the remaining 25%.
