Pensacola Mayor Grover Robinson says the Pensacola Citizens Police Advisory Committee will be dissolved at the end of the month after completing its report of recommendations. Robinson created the committee last year in response to a 2019 grand jury report following the killing of Tymar Crawford by a former Pensacola Police Department officer. A grand jury determined there was not enough evidence to charge the officer in the shooting. However, the committee voted 9-1 to ask the City Council to keep the committee. Robinson said under the city charter, he is not legally allowed to create permanent committees as only the City Council has that power. The committee’s next and possibly last meeting is at 5:30 p.m. March 30th.
