Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was in Pensacola yesterday to promote a state-run COVID-19 vaccine clinic that will be distributing 2,000 doses of the one-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine this week. The clinic is run by the Florida Division of Emergency Management at Zion Hope Primitive Baptist Church, 201 West Leonard Street in Pensacola. DeSantis said about 70% of those 65 and up have received vaccines and Florida has lower per capita mortality rates for seniors than 40 other states. Residents 50 and older can make appointments for today or tomorrow at myvaccine.fl.gov. Those receiving a shot will need to present a photo ID.
