All four lanes of Nine Mile Road between Interstate 10 and Beulah Road are expected to be open by the end of 2019. The 46 million dollar project to widen Nine Mile Road has had long weather delays, and the entire project won’t be complete until the summer of 2020, nearly a year longer than the project was expected to take when construction began in 2016. The project has seen 316 days in delays for weather as wellas a 190-day delay in early 2018 because of redesigns. Ian Satter, spokesman with the Florida Department of Transportation, said the stretch of Nine Mile Road between I-10 and Beulah Road will be the first segment that will open up to traffic.
