After hearing a presentation by a guidance counselor a 12-year-old girl reported that she was a sexual assault victim. 29-year-old Johnathon Vercouse was charged with sexually assaulting and touching the child inappropriately over a 4-day period in November of last year. Vercouse is an oil rig worker and made the 12-year-old do things against her will when adults were asleep or out of the room and told her if she told anyone he would kill himself. Vercouse was booked ito the Escambia County Jail charged with one felony count of sexual assault and one felony count of lewd and lascivious behavior.
