The Florida Bar is investigating Congressman Matt Gaetz over his now-deleted tweet which appeared to threaten the president’s former personal attorney, Michael Cohen. After deleting the tweet Gaetz issued an apology to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. In the Tweet Gaetz asked if Cohen’s wife & father-in-law knew about his girlfriends and wondered if she would remain faithful when he is in prison. Gaetz said he was just challenging the veracity and character of a witness, not trying to intimidate him. Francine Walker, a spokeswoman with the Florida Bar, confirmed in a statement to the Pensacola News Journal that the organization has opened an investigation over the tweet, but said the rules of confidentiality do not permit the release of any other information.
