NEW SPORTS COMPLEX

The Pensacola News Journal is reporting that Pensacola Sports is seeking about 1.4 million dollars a year over the next 30 years in tourist tax development money to build an indoor sports complex in downtown Pensacola. Ray Palmer, executive director of Pensacola Sports, said he expects the building would be about 50,000-square-feet, and that it could be expanded in the future. Quint and Rishy Studer have committed to donate 8 acres of the former Emerald Coast Utility Authority downtown sewage treatment property for an indoor sports complex. However, the  surrounding Tan Yard neighborhood would have to support the project and funding for the project would have to identified before the land is donated.
