The tourism arm of Okaloosa County is deploying Fish Aggregating Devices, called FADs, a type of buoy designed to attract fish, like swordfish, tuna, king mackerel, mahi mahi, and marlin. The first four buoys will be deployed today. The other four will be placed within the next two months. They will be 60 to 80 nautical miles from the beach, south of Okaloosa Island. The buoys will also have weather stations that will provide real-time weather conditions to anglers.
