WORLD’S LARGEST RIVERBOAT

The Glory of Rome, the world’s largest riverboat, may be in Pensacola soon. The 450-foot long riverboat is rated to carry 5,000 passengers, and previously housed the Caesars Southern Indiana casino across the river from Louisville, Kentucky. However, Indiana ended its requirement that casinos had to be housed in operating riverboats, and a permanent building was constructed. The ship left Indiana on August 11th after being sold to a developer in Orange Beach, Alabama. Plans are to convert the vessel to a restaurant, entertainment and conference center and it could be docked in Pensacola permanently.
