A foreign national from the United Kingdom has pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Pensacola of trying to smuggle power generating equipment from the United States to Iran, violating the International Emergency Economic Powers Act. 45-year-old Colin Fisher, admitted in Federal Court that he worked to violate the Iranian embargo by attempting to export a turbine core engine and parts from the United States to Iran. The turbine was valued at $500,000 and could be used in the oil fields of Iran. Fisher will be sentenced on November 10th. Fisher’s partner – James Meharg – is currently serving a 40-month sentence in federal prison.
