ST. JOHN’S CEMETERY CLEANUP DAY

Supporters of St. John’s Cemetery in Pensacola will host a cleanup event Saturday to remove debris from Hurricane to prepare for an All Saints Day observance at the end of the month. Hurricane Sally knocked down numerous trees, dropping them on top of fences, pathways and  headstones. Volunteers are being sought to help with the cleanup. The cemetery at 301 North “G” Street was established in 1876 by the Masons of Escambia Lodge #15 and about 20,000 people are buried on the grounds. The cleanup day will start at 9 a.m. Saturday and anyone can attend.
