The Federal Emergency Management Agency says 2,410 homeowners and renters in Escambia County have been approved for more than 10 million dollars in federal grants through FEMA’s individuals and households program. This includes more than 8 million dollars in housing assistance grants for housing repair costs, home replacement and rental payments, as well as grants to replace essential household items and for other critical disaster-related costs. FEMA has three mobile registration intake centers in Escambia County to help register residents for federal assistance programs and answer questions about the process.
