GULF POWER COSTS FROM HURRICANE SALLY

Gulf Power says the costs to restore electricity in the Florida Panhandle after Hurricane Sally was estimated at about 200 million dollars. The company will likely seek approval from the Florida Public Service Commission to pass that cost onto customers. Hurricane Sally made landfall September 16th in Gulf Shores, Alabama. Florida utilities have typically been allowed to recover storm-restoration costs from customers. The Public Service Commission approved Gulf Power’s recovery of about 290 million dollars in costs from Hurricane Michael in 2018.
