PENSACOLA BAY BRIDGE REPAIRS

The Florida Department of Transportation is continuing demolition efforts on the Pensacola Bay Bridge using three bridge contractors. Along two damaged spans of the bridge have been removed and debris is being removed from two other span. 22 of the 27 barges that went adrift during Hurricane Sally have been recovered. One barge remains under the bridge. Motorists going back and forth to Pensacola are using the Garcon Point Bridge and State Road 87. Tolls on the Garcon Point Bridge have been suspended through Friday, November 13th. The reopening of the Bridge is expected in early March of 2021.
