The first COVID-19 vaccines arrived in Northwest Florida at the Naval Hospital yesterday. The military hospital is the first in Northwest Florida to receive doses of the vaccine. The Department of Defense said last week that 44,000 doses would be distributed at 16 military medical facilities. Frontline medical staff who come into contact with COVID-19 patients will be the first to get the vaccine. Next in line will be first responders. Civilian hospitals in the Pensacola area might receive the vaccine earlier than initially expected, perhaps by next week.
