The Milton City Council has voted 5-2 to remove all five red light cameras within city limits citing citizen complaints and financial concerns about ticket money going to the state and a private company. City officials say for every $158 ticket, $83 goes to the state of Florida and $75 goes to the company that manages the cameras. If the city pays off its contract to the company before the end of the year, it can keep the remaining money. The cameras will be removed in March.
