Former Florida Governor and now Congressman Charlie Crist, has requested the U.S. Department of Justice investigate alleged favoritism in Governor Ron DeSantis’ vaccine distribution in Manatee County.   Crist said DeSantis established vaccine distribution sites to benefit political allies and donors, over the needs of higher-risk communities and he is requesting the Department of Justice determine if the Governor violated federal law. Several members of the Manatee County Commission raised concerns that doses were given to affluent, predominantly white and heavily Republican neighborhoods over underserved communities.
