The Pensacola Naval Air Station is enforcing alcohol restrictions for junior enlisted service members because of a recent string of misconduct. Active-duty service members E-3 rank and below will be allowed to purchase one six-pack of beer per day from the base’s Navy Exchange. Sailors can still access the Portside Club, which will not restrict alcohol sales, but will closely monitor sailors to prevent over-serving. Air Station Commanding Officer Captain Timothy Kinsella and thE 13 major commands on base all agreed on implementing the policy and there is no timeline for when it could be lifted.
