WEST ESCAMBIA BRUSH FIRE

A 3-acre brush fire closed Blue Angel Parkway in West Escambia County for several hours yesterday. The fire was an authorized debris burn that got out of control. The fire started just before 1p.m. and was under control by 3 p.m. No injuries or damage to any structures.MORE

The Florida Highway Patrol says a cement truck overturned yesterday morning on Highway 95 near Cantering Hills Lane north of Meharg Road. A man has been arrested on arson and burglary charges for setting fire to three houses. 22-year-old Michael Carlisle is accused to setting fire to a house in Pensacola and two houses on Pensacola Beach in April of 2020. FLORIDA GAS PRICES CONTINUE TO RISE

Triple “A” says Florida gas prices jumped 11 cents last week. The state average is now $2.72 per gallon; the highest daily average price since May of 2019.
